MEPF COORDINATION - SCHOOL BUILDING

Scope & Procedure

We were required to do the Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and electrical coordination internally and with the structure model for the school project in the USA with a built-up area of 420000 square feet. We have received the structural and MEPF model in Revit. We have coordinated the entire model in Navisworks and run the clash tests. Based on the clash report i.e HVAC vs structure, HVAC vs plumbing, HVAC vs fire, HVAC vs mechanical piping, etc. the clash reports were prepared in a specific format as per client requirement to communicate the clashes. Upon receiving the clash resolution guideline, we change the Revit model accordingly and re-run the clash test until the time model is 100 percent clash free. The clash tests were performed area and level wise as per the requirement of the client. Once the model was clash free and accepted by the client, we have produced the shop drawings for HVAC, plumbing, mechanical piping, fire and electrical.

Challenges

We have faced several challenges during the coordination as the expected turn around time was short and the communication to multiple stakeholders was necessary. Quick changes were also expected by the client. Our team was well versed with several commonly adopted practices to solve the clashes as per the local standards. The team was also quick in making necessary changes in the MEPF Revit model. Our communication was also smooth and quick that helped us complete the project in a short duration.

Business Model

The client was looking to have excellent support for coordination and clash resolution. We have deployed a team of 3 mechanical enfineer and 1 quality checker to ensure quality and on-time delivery. The project was delivered on a fixed lump sum fees.
